Craziness!

It's been a CRAZY week!

Yes, I started painting last Sat. I knew that this was going to be a long project but it's taking too long anyway. :) My house is a disaster! Mainly the kitchen. Everything came out of the cabinets and is everywhere. Luckily, my DH has kept up on the laundry and cleaning bathrooms, etc. He's been designated kid-supervisor. :) I'm too much of a profectionist when it comes to painting. And these paneled doors are proving to be a big pain in the butt.

So far I've done:
(DH sanded everything down first)
- 2 coats of primer on cabinet base and doors
-2 coats of paint on cabinet base
-glazed cabinet base
-2 protective coats
-almost finished w/ 2nd coat of paint on doors
-and some light sanding was done after the 1st coat of paint

Once the paint dries on the doors then I'll glaze them tomorrow. Then I have to wait a week for the glaze to cure before putting the 2 protective coats on. Then we'll have to drill for the hardware and install that! SO, hopefully a week from Monday, our house will look "normal".

It will be worth it and I'm thankful that we have a small kitchen for once. :) We also ordered new countertops this week and they'll be in on the 15th. Once those are in, I'll post pictures. Oh, and we went somewhere else that lets you order just what you need and they were on sale so we spent much less in the end. :)

I did get my haircut too. DH loves it. It's a little sassier. What do you think? Do I look more like I'm about to turn 30? :)

I really have been on the borderline of feeling totally overwhelmed. It's good to be so busy but with 6 classes now and keeping up on the homework and then Christian's homework and just going grocery shopping is hard to fit in. It's much better though than staying home every day because I'm too much of a procrastinator. As much as I feel too busy, I do thrive on it.

Well, I'd better go finish painting. :) It is sooo weird to be soooo busy that I'm rarely online anymore and I'm hoping that once this project is done, life will slow down a little bit.
