Life as I know it!

School and... just life

I knew that I still had some perfectionist traits in me! Yes, I want to have a 4.0 grade point average. I graduated from H.S. with a 3.4. No bad but I want to do better. So, when I get back my mid-term grade for Mechanical Print Reading and see a "C" - aaaahhhhhh!!! It's sooo close to a B, the instructor says. Still! This is how you go from having an "A" to a "C" overnight. You have a test and get 89% on it. Not bad, right? Well, separates our grade in 3 categories: daily quizzes, assignments, and tests. Quizzes make up 30%, assign. 20% and tests 50%. So there you have it! For program courses, an A is 94-100%, general courses are 90%-100%. I know that there's still a lot of time and there are 3 more tests left.

Some good news is that my other mid-term grade was an "A" - Mechanical Principles (same instructor). I only got 2 wrong! Yay!!!

Other happenings: The kids and Clinton have taken turns being sick. I hate it when someones sick and I've been doing all that I can to make sure that I don't miss any school. I can't afford to do that.

I'm sure that I'm not the only person in the world (by far) to feel like they've got so much on their plate that they can't excel at any one thing. There are so many things that I think I need to be putting better effort towards. Am I the only one who feels sometimes that instead of LIVING, I'm just being? I hate that feeling. Somedays, it's a miracle that we we all get where we need to be and do what we need to do. Things that I want to work on: involvement in church, paying more attention to DH and the kids' needs, clutter control, taking care of my skin, cooking meals, staying in touch better with people...I'm sure that there's more.

Well, enough babbling...

  • ya know what? the two classes where i learned the most in college? the ones i got "c"s in. there were two of 'em, and i learned more in those two classes than all of the ones i got "a"s in.

i hope everyone feels better soon!

  • So true! This is the instructor that I had heard was hard so I was nervous about these classes but I'm actually enjoying them and learning a lot.
